WELCOME to

Seaford Kindergarten

We would like to welcome your child and your family to Seaford Kindergarten and hope your time with us is enjoyable and rewarding. Kindergarten is an opportunity for your child to experience an organised educational program before they enter more formal education at school.

These early years are important because it is a time where children create the foundations for learning throughout life. Basic attitudes, skills and knowledge are formed, on which children build as they proceed through their education.

Acknowledgement of Country

We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our kinder stands, the Bunurong (Boon wurrung) people. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We also acknowledge our gratitude that we share this land today, and our sorrow for some of the costs of sharing, and our hope and belief that we can move to a place of equity, justice and partnership together.

  • 4 Year Old Group Lunch/Snack

Children are required to bring a healthy snack and a healthy lunch to sessions on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesdays are shorter sessions and children require SNACK ONLY … we expect that they will eat lunch before / after their session (as appropriate). Snack & lunch can be packed together or separately, and we ask that you take the time to discuss with your child what is for snack and what is for lunch. We will also be discussing this with the children. They will also need to bring a drink bottle filled with WATER only.

  • 3 Year Old Group Snack

Children are required to bring a snack of fruit or veggies to each session. Children need to bring a drink bottle filled with WATER only.

  • NO NUT PRODUCTS

We request that no foods containing NUTS are sent into Kindergarten. Please note that this includes things like Nutella. Foods that ‘may contain traces of nuts’ are okay.

  • KINDER BAG

Each child is asked to bring a Kinder bag with them each day. Bags will be stored in lockers in the foyer. Please ensure that your child’s Kinder bag is big enough to fit their lunch box, snack box, library bag and any artwork. This will hopefully mean the children won’t be coming out the door with armfuls of things!

  • HATS

Hats must be worn at all times outdoors (regardless of the weather) until the end of April and then again from the beginning of September. Hats must be broad-brimmed or legionnaire’s style to ensure the face, ears, and neck are protected from the sun. Baseball caps are not suitable for sun protection.

  • SUNSCREEN

Parents are asked to put sunscreen on their children prior to coming to Kindergarten each day until the 1st May and again from 1st September … and any other day you feel it is warranted e.g. on days when the UV index is high. Sunscreen will be available in the Kinder foyer if required.
